I've been feeling so guilty about my very greatly deprived TBR shelf. If you check out my blog fairly regularly you will have noticed I've been reading Gus the Great by Thomas W. Duncan for...Well, for what seems like forever now! Therefor depriving all the books screaming to me wanting to be read!
I don't want to give the wrong impression of Gus the Great. It has been a good read so far. Part of the problem I know, is I can't seem to stay awake long enough to read more than a few pages at a time! I typically do my reading at night (in case you didn't figure that out). Aside from that, the book has been kind of a slow read for me. Most books I fly through. This is not one of them. I'm not sure why that is, as most books that I seem to drag through are ones I don't really care for. Like I said before...This one I am enjoying.
Until the day in the far distant future (O.k. well, maybe not...O.k. hopefully not far too distant) here are the poor, deprived, neglected books just sitting there, waiting TO BE READ!
This is just naming a few & not mentioning the ones I'm awaiting to arrive in the mail!

My TBR pile suffers the same way. If I get to bed by 9 I may be able to read nearly and hour...but in real life, like you, a few pages and the book is hitting me in the forehead as I nod off.
Some day I hope to have the time with out sacrifice to dedicate to the darlings of the TBR pile. And allow it to grow!
I have a ton of books on my TBR shelf too! I wish I had the stamina to read at night after the kids are in bed.
I read Back Roads awhile ago...it was good, from what I can remember!
Thanks for the b-day wishes!
i have started the electric kool aid acid test about 5 times and always put it aside....thanks for the nudge, i think i will pick it up tonight and make it my bedtime reading!i haven't read any of the others on your list, but am excited about hearing your take on them
I'm just getting back into reading - hopefully in a big way!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog to say hello - I apologise for being so tardy in responding! Your blog is a little gem, I'll definitely be coming by to visit again!
Thank you all for your comments & compliments! I had wanted to The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test after reading One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (which I loved!) So...I'm HOPING it's good too! lol
I'm happy to hear Back Roads is a good read. I haven't really read anything about it...as far as reviews go.

The Pickwick papers are dragging on for me for total lack of time although I am having a whale of a time reading it so I get what you are saying! Hope you finish Gus the great soon and get to those other books! I have a million to be read still!
Ohhh good picks. Now I'm inspired. I'm off to hit the library!

Thank you both for your comments! I'm glad to know that there are others who understand what I mean! lol

I know exactly what you mean. My TBR is enormous and horribly neglected at times.
I got into trouble with accepting too many review requests and blog tours. But no worries that is all on hold for the next few months so I can play catch up!
You have a pretty diverse pile there.!
It was so great to hear from you. You have a wonderful blog! I'm going to go check out "Shopaholic" now.
xoxo,
Kim
Thanks for your comments! I read a fairly wide array of books. Though mainly fiction. My reading just greatly depends on my moods!
Kim...Thank you for checking out Shopaholic! It's a brand new blog I launched just last night. It goes along with the website I created for eCrater store owners (which is where I have my store at.)

Great timing for The Great American Novel, given the start of baseball season this week. If you're a baseball fan, you'll love it!
I'm reading Gone with the Wind right now, and while I'm enjoying it my tbr sits there looking melancholy. I hope you continue to enjoy Gus the Great.
I also have an award for you :)
Thank you both for your comments! Greg...I've read some reviews on it & from what I've gathered it should be a pretty entertaining read.
Whitney...I've never read Gone With the Wind. I hope you're enjoying it. Thank you for the award! I'll swing by & check it out!

Ooh Tom Wolfe should be a great read! Good luck getting through your list.
Thank you & thanks for your comment!
